Uganda is facing serious hunger crisis: Gender inequality and climate change cited as key driving factors

Uganda ranks 105 on Global Hunger Index 2024. The report indicates that 27.3 percent of the population is in serious hunger situation. Gender inequality and climate change cited as key driving factors.

This alarming ranking places Uganda in the category of nations facing serious hunger crisis and these highlights the urgent need to address food insecurity,  malnutrition and poverty that continue to impact millions of Ugandans.

Therefore it's time for action government, NGO s, and communities work together to tackle hunger and build sustainable food systems.
